Re: How to remove glue & cement from floorboards?

Hello @RayScully,

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community.

You can hire a jack hammer at the store. But I believe that using a jack hammer might damage the timber floorboards. I propose using a Kango 100mm x 250mm SDS Plus Floor Scraping Chisel KCSPFS100 in combination with a jack hammer to scrape the old cement and adhesive off the floorboards.

However, if the adhesive looks very thick and you think the scraper is not strong enough, I suggest using the Kango 75mm x 170mm SDS Plus Angled Tiling Chisel KCSPT75.

Your other option is to do it manually using a Bolster, it might be slow going, but it will give you complete control on how much force is being applied to the floor.

I also suggest having a look at this discussion - How do I remove tiles on external veranda? by @Arch3.

Please make sure to wear personal safety gear such as gloves, goggles and a mask when working on your tiling project.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
