How to remove benchtop burn mark?

Hey guys,

I recently noticed these burn marks on my kitchen bench. The stains are quite visible and don’t seem to come off with regular cleaning. I’ve attached a photo below for reference.

Does anyone have advice on how to safely remove these marks without damaging the surface? Any recommended products or home remedies that worked for you?

Or anyone who knows repairing them around Geelong.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Benchtop burn mark removal

Hello @Aroshamh

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. Its sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your benchtop.

I suggest having a quick look at our best advice - How do you fix a burn mark on laminate? If you have a laminated benchtop surface, I suggest using Scotch-Brite 155 x 100mm Heavy Duty Scourer and some dishwashing liquid on the laminated surface. Your goal is to make the burn mark fade away without scratching too deeply into the laminate surface. It might take some time, but it should slowly reduce the burn mark on the surface. Please note that the burned sections can't be restored to their original finish.

The other choice of course is to paint the entire benchtop with a fresh new colour, this is on the condition that you have a laminated benchtop. However, if you have a stone benchtop, I suggest engaging the services of a professional. They will have the equipment and knowledge to repair your benchtop.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric
