How to install spice holder on cabinet?

Hello,

I have a cabinet and  I want to hang on to it a spice holder.

The cabinet wall is 3 cm thick.

Not sure what kind of wood is the cabinet (but it's a cheap cabinet).

I saw on youtube people using screws that go through the wall of the cabinet and then  are secured with a washer and a nut on the other side

What kind of screws should I buy to use the same technique?

Thanks!

Re: spice holder attachment

Hello @ventodimare

It is good to hear from you again. Can you please post a photo of the spice rack so that we can see how big the screw mounting hole is. Can you also please post a photo of the wall of the cabinet. is it solid timber or is it a hollow wall cabinet? As soon as we see the pictures it will give our members a better idea of what you are mounting to. We can then make recommendations on what mounting screws to use.

If you need further assistance, please let me know.

Eric

hello @EricL thanks as usual fir your help. The first two are pics of the cabinet and the others of the holder.

I tried to put a nail in the cabinet wall and it goes in quite easily. Not sure if this clarifies ur question around solid/hollow wall cabinet.

Thanks!

Re: spice holder attachment

Hi @ventodimare,

It looks like you have melamine cabinets which are chipboard with a melamine coating.

As you've indicated they are 30mm thick, you should use the longest chipboard screw possible that will not pierce through the otherside of the board.

These Zenith 8G x 25mm Countersunk Gold Rib Head Chipboard Screws should do the trick.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Re: spice holder attachment

Thanks @JacobZ

As the spices are quite heavy, I was looking for a screw that has on the other side of the cabinet wall a washer and a nut (doesn't matter if they will show inside the cabinet).

Any suggestion?

Thanks a mil

Re: spice holder attachment

Hi @ventodimare,

That's certainly fair, a nut and bolt is definitely better at supporting loads like this.

You should be able to use these Pinnacle M6 x 50mm Zinc Plated Round Head Bolts And Nuts, you'll just have to confirm that the head of the bolt can slip through the larger hole on the spice holder and it will sit down over the shaft of the bolt.

If you bring the spice holder in store with you, I am sure the Builders team will be happy to help confirming compatibility.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
