Hi, I’m in a rental property and have an issue with my mixer tap in the kitchen “spinning”. There is a knack to actually getting the tap to full hot, see attached photo and video. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would like to fix it myself.
Q2. Also it has just started dripping, and assuming it’s dripping because of a washer, but where do you find the washer on these things? I’ve changed bathroom tap washers before, but never a mixer tap.
thanks so much for any help you can provide this DIY Chick 😊
Hi @SteelCap,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
I've had this same issue before, and it is relatively easy to fix. Underneath the sink, there should be a thread with a nut on it. You will just need to line the base of the tap up with where you want it and tighten up the nut with a shifter.
To fix the drip, the likely best solution is to replace the mixer cartridge. The hot/cold indicator on the handle can likely be popped off to reveal a grub screw. If you remove this grub screw, the handle will come off to reveal the mixer cartridge.
You can then follow this handy guide from our supplier Fix-A-Tap on How To Replace a Mixer Cartridge to replace the cartridge
Let me know what you think and if you run into any trouble along the way, please don't hesitate to ask.
