Noticed that the side shelf of the fridge is broken and cannot hold any weight. The hook on one of the side is broken and hence wondering on how to fix it?
Thanks
Hello @PG-home
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. Its sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your fridge door.
The yellow product behind your acrylic door liner is insulation. This means that there is nothing we can screw into it that won't pulling out. It might be possible to glue the side hook back into place, but that means that weight of the shelf is being held by the glue that's holding the side hook.
I suggest having a quick look at this discussion - How to glue two pieces of acrylic? by @Moggy. In the discussion it was suggested to use Loctite 408. Please note that this product needs to be ordered at the special orders desk of the store. It is the only adhesive I'm aware of that will bond two pieces of acrylic together.
The only other option I can think of is to glue the shelf permanently to the fridge door using Loctite 408.
Let me call on our experienced members @Dave-1 and @TedBear for their recommendations.
