Hi,
We have many push to open kitchen Kaboodle units. The push to open drawers are driving us crazy.
They open just fine. But they don't close. They take several attempts to push close and many times they just wont catch closed and are left open.
We have a method of pushing them quite hard and then wiggling them side to side in the compressed closed position. This will sometimes force the mechanism to catch and keep them closed.
Cabinets are level. The runners are level. Nothing is broken.
Is there a way to adjust the 'sensitivity' of the close mechanism? Making it more gentle to close and stick closed.
Honestly we are at the point where we just want to rip them out and start again with another type of unit.
Any help adjusting the mechanism to work would be amazing.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @PushToOpenDrawe. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about Kaboodle cabinets.
I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your cabinetry.
I've spoken to Kaboodle, and they've suggested that the runners not being firmly attached to the side of the cabinet can cause this issue. They've suggested you check to see if the runners are firmly fixed in place and to tighten any loose screws. Understandably, it doesn't sound like all your screws could be loose, causing this issue on all drawers, but it's best to check first. They'd like to work with you to resolve the issue and have asked that you reach out to their technical team for assistance at clr@ahecorporate.com. If you could take a short video illustrating the issue and send it through to them there, that would be helpful in trying to identify what's going on.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
