How to fix a small burn on laminate benchtop?

Hello guys, is there a way to fix this? I accidently placed a hot pan on the countertop, the effected area is about the size of a regular thumb.

Hello @Dan5

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your benchtop.

Is your benchtop a timber laminated benchtop? If it is, I suggest using PC-11 56g White Epoxy Paste to fill the gap in the benchtop. The epoxy paste can be pushed inside the damaged section and feathered with your thumb so that it lines up with the surface of the benchtop. This will save you a great deal of sanding once the paste cures. Please note that the paste will cure to an off-white colour, I therefor suggest painting the surface of the patch in the same tone as your benchtop.

In order to get a similar or compatible colour, I recommend visiting your local store and grabbing a few paint sample cards from the paint department and comparing it to the colour of your benchtop. Once you find a compatible colour ask the paint specialist to make a sample pot for you.

However, if your benchtop is made of an artificial material such as reconstituted stone or resin-based substance, I suggest engaging the services of a professional benchtop restoration specialist. They will have the knowledge and equipment to repair your benchtop.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
