Just about to do laminate bench top advice on products eg so looks like granite or is just painting with renovation flux the way to go

If you are thinking about giving your benchtop a marble look using paint like the Dulux Renovation Range, I suggest having a look at this discussion - Marble-look benchtop using paint by @raceytrace. If you are thinking of applying this technique, I strongly suggest doing a test on a laminate off cut to familiarize yourself with the procedure.
However, you also have the option of just painting the surface in a single colour. There is of course the option of changing your laminate benchtop with a benchtop that has a marble laminate design such as the Kaboodle 38 x 600mm Compact Radius Calcutta Grey Customisable Benchtop. It can be ordered to the size of your current benchtop at your store's kitchen department.
