Plumber has moved taps from wall to bench and now I need to fix this concrete before I can tilie.
Would you fill it with a mortar mix and level or is there another product that is suitable, I will have the window sill to tile also

Re: How to fill holes in concrete before tiling

Hi @Annie22,

Mortar is a good option for filling the deeper voids, as it will provide a solid base. Once that has set, you might want to go over the area with a thin layer of render to create a smoother, more even surface for tiling.

Since this is a wet area, you’ll also need to apply a suitable waterproofing membrane before laying your tiles. Make sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for drying times and application to ensure proper adhesion and protection against moisture.

For the window sill, you might need to fix a timber board over the repaired area as temporary formwork. This will help you achieve a level and well-defined edge for the sill. Once the mortar or render has set, you can remove the formwork and proceed with tiling.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
