We are laying Hybrid Laminate Flooring in our new pantry.
We are having trouble making the boards lay flat when clicked together.
We have only done 2 rows so far. Will it get better the more boards clicked together?
The floor has been levelled and when I checked, there were no major discrepancies. Is it me?! 🤔
Any advice would be very appreciated.
Hello @Kelli-H
Thanks for sharing your question about your hybrid floor installation.
Since you are only on the second row, I suggest lifting the the first row a little bit and straightening out the first board installed on the second row. Generally, the angled lifting only occurs when the panel is not totally locked in place.
I suggest using the tapping block to secure the panel into place. As you progress the weight of the floor will drag the other panels down. My best advice is to make sure that the panels are locked firmly into place.
Here is a handy step-by-step guide: How to lay laminate flooring.

Hi @EricL
You were exactly right! I just needed more of an angle when connecting and tapping in. They are now all fitting and laying correctly.
Thank you for your help once again!!!
We finished the floor, it took some work, but we persevered and I am so happy with the way it turned out.
I forgot to take photos before we put the shelving in! 🙈
Hi @Kelli-H,
Thank you for sharing your finished project.
It looks fantastic and really gives the room a finished feel.
Congratulations on a job well done.
