G'day team,
I've recently removed carpet from the two entrances to the kitchen (which is tiled).
The result is I now have hardwood floors connecting with the tile in a stabby-toe situation that also makes it hard for our 15 month old to roll his walkers etc over it.
On one entrance:
There's 8mm in height worth of cement(?) under the tile, which acts as a 'step' to the hardwood.
There's an additional 12mm of tile height.
The distance of exposed cement(?) is about 12mm
The other is
5mm cement, 15mm tile over a 25mm distance.
This is essentially what I was imagining, with some sort of adhesive holding it down:
Does Bunnings carry something like this?
Otherwise, happy to hear ideas!
I feel like I've had a good look through: https://www.bunnings.com.au/products/flooring-tiles/accessories-adhesives/trim
But, maybe I've missed it?
Thanks very much
You know what, having spent some more time on the forum here, I reckon the comment here from EricL makes a lot of sense:

i.e this:

It may not touch the floor, but maybe close enough?
Hello @Will03
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about a smooth transition between rooms.
It's great to see that you've had a look at the other discussions regarding transition strips. Aside from using Cap Vinyl Edge Qep Cork 15-7505, I also suggest trying out Roberts 1.65m Silver Senior Ramp Floating Floor Trim. The floating floor trim uses a Roberts Ramp And Cover Trim Plug to secure it to the surface of the floor.
The floating floor trim should cover the gap easily as it is 40mm in depth and has a raised front that should ease the transition between floors. I also suggest having a look at this discussion - How to transition between bathroom tile flooring and laminate flooring of hallway? by @Megha.
