How to cover gap between benchtop and trim?

Hello

The house is over 40 years old and I've just repainted the benchtop (thanks to your help with advice on benchtop paint). There is a noticeable gap between the benchtop and trim. Is silicone the best cosmetic fix and if so, any particular type? I'm not a handyperson so don't have a vice or anything if the proper fix is gluing.

Thanks guys.

Hello @LorenClayton

Thank you for that close up picture of your benchtop. You are correct, silicone is the best cosmetic fix for this gap. I suggest using Selleys 300g White Wet Area Waterproof Silicone Sealant in combination with a UNi-PRO Skeleton Caulking Gun

Here is a handy step-by-step guide: How To Silicone Seal A Bath (the techniques used are applicable to your benchtop project)
