How to trim an open kitchen cabinet?
Hi,
We have removed some integrated appliances and would like to leave the cabinet open now and use it for our coffee machine. Any suggestions on how to neaten up the edges/trim?
There is now ~100mm gap from the edge.
Thanks so much

Re: How to Trim an open kitchen cabinet
Hello @guym
Welcome to the Bunnings workshop community. it's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your kitchen.
I'm guessing that your 100mm is a typo error and the actual gap is around 10mm on the condition that you are referring to the sunken edge of the oven cabinet. Please let me know if I'm wrong in regards to the measurements. In order to fill that gap, I suggest double checking the measurement of the depth and looking at the Porta 12x12mm 2.4m DAR Square Clear Pine as a possible timber filler for the gap. If it is not big enough, please proceed to the next size up. I recommend painting it in semi-gloss white to match your cabinet finish.
I suggest using Selleys 250g Liquid Nails Clear Construction Adhesive to stick the timber moulding into the gap. Place some masking tape onto the timber piece to hold it in place. Once the adhesive cures you can then remove the masking tape.
Let me call on our experienced members @Dave-1 and @Nailbag for their recommendations.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Re: How to Trim an open kitchen cabinet
Hi @guym
My apologies but I can't see the area where there is a 100mm-ish gap, only the exposed right-angled shelf brackets. Are toy able to add some arrows or circles to indicate please?

Re: How to trim an open kitchen cabinet?
Good Morning @guym
I like the trim idea of @EricL 's
I would paint it as close as I could to the white that you have for your cupboards. I would also let the paint dry for a week before liquid nailing it. You could use short bullet head nails but then you would still have to cover the nail heads them selves. I have done the bullet head nails to secure the pine trim on my bookcases and they dont look out of place, with the white, maybe a white touch up pen? Liquid nails would work well tho.
