On this side of the kitchen sink it's looking a bit ratty. Is this just a matter of putting more silicone around it?

Re: How do i fix up the kitchen sink edge?

Hi @firsthome2022,

Due to the gap under the sink lip, grime tends to build up. It could be grime or just discoloured silicone sealant. First, I'd attempt to clean the area with an old toothbrush, or a toothpick can be used to scrape out debris. This might solve your issue if it's just grime. If it's discoloured silicone, you can trim any excess that's sticking out with a retractable knife, but be very careful not to cut into the benchtop. Remember to wear protective cut-resistant gloves when you do so. Once any excess silicone is removed, tape up either side of the gap and apply a very thin bead of silicone. Smooth the silicone off with a wet soapy finger so it forms a cove between the sink lip and benchtop. Remember, you'll only need a tiny amount of silicone to seal this gap.

Here's a handy step-by-step guide: How to apply silicone sealant.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Afternoon @firsthome2022

When looking at your pictures I was wondering if the little fastenening clamps may require tightening? These are located under the sink and clamp onto the bench. They are a pain in the neck to get to but it may be worthwhile to see if they are tight?
