** Note that this cover must be removed before using the cooktop.**
I wanted a protective cover for the new glass cooktop. I searched a lot online and while I did find some, they were either the wrong size or very expensive. In Bunnings last weekend I saw a BBQ cover on sale for $15.98. I cut it to size and it works really well. The knobs were too flush with the cooktop for it to fit under the knobs, so I cut holes out. I have enough leftover to use as a large benchtop mat. Note that the "right" side is gloss black but I use it flipped with a grey matt surface.
** I don't know of its status wrt induction cooktops.

Hi @hakeae,
Thank you for sharing this clever cooktop protection hack.
The Ultimate Flooring PVC BBQ Mat will be perfect for protecting your glass cooktop and it looks fantastic against that beautiful timber benchtop.
A fantastic hack. Thank you for sharing.
