Fresh fruit timber tray
I made this timber fruit tray using Hardwood Multi -Use panel (1200x300x 17mm, price $35.00 from Bunnings) instead of using single pieces of hardwood, which would have had to be glued into panels. This saves build time and cost of materials.
I finished the tray with three coat of clear waterbased varnish, also from Bunnings
Note to @EricL my sketches are no match for your great drawings.

Re: Fresh fruit timber tray
What a fantastic design and lovely finish, @JoeAzza. I really like the splayed sides and the routed detailing. How long did it take you to construct?
Many thanks for sharing, and I look forward to your next project.

Re: Fresh fruit timber tray
Thankyou @MitchellMc
the tray didn’t brake long to make, approximately 4hrs
it took long to think about the idea of how to build it.
no nails or screws were used just glue and biscuit joints

Re: Fresh fruit timber tray
"Very nice - very nice!" - as they say on Antiques Roadshow.
Did it fit perfectly with the first fitting?

Re: Fresh fruit timber tray
This looks awesome @JoeAzza , those routed sections on the sides look mint, did you have much trouble doing them?

Re: Fresh fruit timber tray
Thank you @Remarka6le , not too difficult , I have a router table, I used a 12mm spiral carbide router bit, just took small depth cuts.

Re: Fresh fruit timber tray
Hi @JoeAzza
Thank you so much for the compliment. I may draw pretty pictures every now and then, but your woodworking creations are a masterclass in timber assembly. I would definitely struggle to keep my cuts perfectly aligned.
