raised garden beds on slopes

I've moved into a new home which has a sloped grass front yard. I want to add some raised beds but I'd be looking at about a 25cm height difference between one side and the other side of the bed on a 1m wide bed. Has anyone got any suggestions? I'm hoping to avoid having to terrace the yard too much.

Re: raised garden beds on slopes

Hello @jess27

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about putting up a raised garden bed on a slope.

In order to give our members a better idea of what the proposed garden area looks like, would it be possible for you to post a few photos of the yard. We can then make recommendations on the best course of action.

A standard sleeper size is 200mm x 50mm x 2400mm. Joining two together will give you a height of 400mm. If you were to build a free-standing garden bed the legs of the bed would simply need to be adjusted to compensate for the slope. This will give you an independent garden without having to terrace the front yard.
