What tool is best for lawn edging?

Hi, Is Ozito 1400W 190mm Corded Lawn Edger ($129) good/easy choice for cleaning/finishing this lawn edge (see pictures). Would it help clean the growth on the pavers? If possible, I want to avoid using string trimmer, and also prefer corded version than battery. Thanks.

Re: lawn edging

Hi @Zoe3

Yes that Ozito edger will work perfectly to maintain a nice defined edge to your lawn. Unlike what the photo depicts in the product page, I highly recommend that you create the initial edge with a shovel and not the edger. This will save wear and tear not only on the blade, but chipping the pavers as you will be edging blind to start with. Also being electric, it's important not to allow the motor to stall by getting bogged down in to the soil. This can cause the motor to over-heat and reduce its life.

Manually start your first edge with a shovel which will look like this. Then maintain it with the edger.

Re: lawn edging

Hello @Zoe3

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your lawn edging.

It's fantastic that you 've received excellent advice from @Nailbag. I agree with his suggestions on how to use the edger, my only other tip is to make sure that you let the edging tool to cool off especially if being used continuously.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
