Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your garden hose reel.
One of the first things I would investigate is if your garden hose reel is still under warranty. If it is, I suggest tracking down the purchase date on your bank statement, but if you used cash perhaps you can track down your docket. You can then bring the faulty hose reel to the store and apply for a warranty.
However, if neither of those options are open to you, I can only suggest pulling the reel to its maximum length and investigate if the hose itself has sprung a leak. The hose itself can be patched up, but please do not open the hose reel housing as there is a high-tension spring located inside and is not meant to be tampered with as it could cause severe injury.
