What timber for edging between boundary line fence and concrete pathway?

I am planning to edge the highlighted area with timber. I am looking to suggestions on which timber to use.

Area between concrete path way and fence is 480mm.

I am thinking to use either "200 x 50mm Treated Pine Sleeper CCA H4 - 2.4m" OR "

200 x 50mm 2.4m Sleeper H4 Treated Pine Sienna MicroPro - 2.4m"

As both of these are 50mm , it will remove 100mm from the entire space as well as expensive.

Is there any low cost options we have ?

if not which one out of these two is better to use ? I think "MicroPro "

Hi @nvelaga,

Apologies for the delayed response.

Being in direct contact with the ground, whatever you use will need to be H4 treated. Have a look at How to choose the right timber for the job for some guidance on different timbers and their uses.

Unfortunately, you are somewhat limited when it comes to H4 timber. You could use 140 x 45mm H4 Pine to retain an extra 10mm, but for the increase in cost, it's probably not worth it.

Realistically, sleepers are your best option. The 200 x 50mm Treated Pine Sleepers comes at a slightly lower cost, but the 200 x 50mm 2.4m Sienna MicroPro H4 Treated Pine Sleeper looks a bit nicer.

Personally, I would use the Sienna Micropro sleepers, but the choice is entirely up to you.

Let me know what you think.

Jacob
