Vertical onion planter
Having ran out of garden space for my onions.
Decided to get the plastic bins.
using a hole saw cut some holes all around.
Added garden soil and planted the onions. After a week the onions look great that I’ve decided to make a second one.

Re: Vertical onion planter
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Tindo. It's excellent to have you join us, and many thanks for sharing your gardening project.
That's a super-nifty idea that I might need to try myself! I'd imagine you're getting a substantial crop from the square footage you've devoted to it.
Did you have any issues with the soil falling out of the holes, or wasn't that a problem?
I look forward to hearing more about the other gardening projects you have around your home.

Re: Vertical onion planter
@MitchellMc yes there’s some soil that falls off during planting and initial watering. It however stops once the soil settles up.
The soul that falls off can be collected and added up to the top as level drops during the settling phase.
