Coffee grounds make a great addition to any garden and can be used in a number of ways. Using spent coffee grounds also helps reduce landfill which is great for the environment.

Interesting thing about coffee ground is that slugs and snails gets wrapped like in corn flour and hence prevents them from reaching their destination. Most perish along the way.

…bloody slugs everywhere!….thoughts on coffee grounds on lawn to deter said sluggos!?
I wonder if I can use fresh/dried coffee grounds straight up to sprinkle over the lawn to deter/intercept the slippery suckers? 🤔 🐌
Hello @CrikeyCoral
It is possible to sprinkle coffee grounds onto your lawn. Coffee grounds contain nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus, all vital for grass health. Whether its fresh or used coffee grounds it will work on the slugs. Another option is to place a border of Garden Basics 500g Snail and Slug Pellets to manage the slug's infestation.
Please remember to wear gloves, goggles and a mask when spreading the slug pellets.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
