Re: Small patio retic or irrigation suggestion

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @shankor. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about irrigation.

It sounds like you need a system that is more suited to your area. A simple solution would be to switch to a weeper hose or soaker hose. A 15m length would allow you to run it around one side of the bed and then back down the other.

Alternatively, you could run an irrigation pipe along the back of the beds and install half-circle sprayers.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

@MitchellMc How to install half circle sprayers Thanks a lot for quick response

Weeper hose , how many hours I need to run it , does it soak the width of the area or only local to the root

Re: Small patio retic or irrigation suggestion

Hi @shankor,

To install half-circle sprayers with black poly irrigation hose, start by connecting the poly hose to your garden tap using a hose connector. Run the hose around your garden bed, securing it in place with garden stakes to keep it tidy and stable. Next, use a hole punch tool to create holes in the poly hose where you want the sprayers to be positioned. Insert the barbed end of the half-circle sprayers into these holes, ensuring a snug fit. Adjust the sprayers to direct water where it’s needed most.

For a weeper hose, it typically needs to run for a couple of hours to fully saturate the garden bed. This allows the water to seep deeply into the soil and reach the roots effectively.
