Ryobi 36V Mower handles and mounting plates continually becoming loose. Is this a known issue?

Is the handle attachment for the 36V Ryobi Electric Brushless 46cm Lawn Mower a known issue? The Torx fasteners become very loose after only 1-2 home garden mows. They require frequent tightening on both sides of the mower, as do the mounting plates to the frame.

Hello @justinb7999

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your Ryobi lawn mower.

It's difficult to tell the possible cause of the Torx screws coming loose while you are mowing. I've not heard anything regarding this issue. I've forwarded your query to the Ryobi customer service team. As soon as we get a response, we'll get back to you. You can also give the Ryobi customer service team a call on 1300 697 962.

Thank you for your patience.

Hello @justinb7999

Thank you for your patience. I've sent you an email with your Ryobi reference number. The Ryobi service team have forwarded the issue to their technical department and are waiting for a response. I'm currently waiting for a response as well, but if you wish to give them a call simply mention your reference number and they will be able to track down your query.

Good evening @justinb7999

New and under warranty?

Any chance of taking out the bolts and looking at the threads - are they stripped?

It all looks plastic to me - but what do they screw into? Can't be raw plastic surely - embedded nuts or nut rivets?

To my eyes that angular plate is basically there to assist in the handle angle choice?

Would it be worth trying locking washers with the bolts?
