Hi there,
the lawn in my backyard is dead due to lack of sun, I would like to start growing a grass but I need some suggestion about what type of grass to use and what type of soil to use.
thanks

Thank you so much
Hi @Rocio
For a really shady area you will need a 'sun & shade' variety if you want to plant from seed.
If you want to lay roll-turf then you will likley have to go to a specialist supplier or direct to a turf grower in your area and ask them about available shade tolerant varieties.
These varieties will often just be described as something like ST85. The ST means 'shade tolerance' and the 85 is the percentage of shade, so ST85 would tolerate 85% shade.
If it's deep, deep, deeeeep shade then you may have to look at a lawn substitute or ground-cover.
Thank you so, so much Adam
