Is this tree beside Juniperus Spartans affected by crown gall?

Ah ha!  Looks like two separate plants - the tibouchina growing up from soil level against the trunk of a much larger tree that looks like a lillypilly (dark green, glossier leaves with different veining)!  There is some mould on the thin stem of the tib but nothing to worry about.
