How to use Eden self-watering pots?

How to use Eden self-watering pots?

I've bought an Eden Self Watering City Planter Pot. As with my other self-watering pots there is an overflow "funnel' in the base of the Eden pot but it's blocked off with a plastic cap that doesn't seem to be removable!

There is no excess water outlet other than this. What is the trick to making this work? No instructions on label nor online.

Re: How to use Eden self-watering pots?

Hello @Teacup

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your Eden self-watering pots.

The plug should technically be removable to allow water to flow out of the bottom of the pot. Can you please double check if the plug needs a tool to be removed? Perhaps a small flat headed screwdriver to pop it out? Another method you can try is to push it from the other side with a nail. However, please do not use excessive force as this might damage the funnel itself. If it still refuses to budge, I propose returning the pot to the store you purchased it from and exchange it for one that has the plug removed.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let me know.

Eric
