This 4 way garden tap outlet- which way is better in terms of turning up water pressure :-
1) turn the tap all the way on and use the little individual outlet lever to adjust pressure for that outlet OR
2) have the individual outlet lever all the way down and use the tap to adjust pressure OR
3) a combo of both !
I hope this makes sense and doesn’t sound too ridiculous! I was having issues with house pipe banging when I turned on the garden hose but I’ve fixed that by sorting out the mains pressure. I’m about to hook up the hose to the 4 way but just thought I should check whether it matters to adjust using the tap itself or the lever to adjust tap/hose pressure at the garden outlet! Thanks!
Hi @Kapster,
It’s not ridiculous at all. In terms of adjusting water pressure with your 4-way garden tap outlet, it doesn't really matter whether you adjust the pressure using the main tap or the individual outlet lever, as long as the system is functioning properly. Typically, many people leave the main tap fully open and then control the water flow and pressure for each individual line by adjusting the small outlet levers.
Using the main tap to fully open the flow allows water to be freely available to each outlet, and then you can fine-tune the pressure or flow for each hose with the individual outlet levers. This method gives you more control and is generally easier for managing multiple hoses.
I would recommend starting with the main tap open and adjusting via the outlet levers, as this is a common and simple setup.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Brilliant! Thanks very much, just working with water pressure seems to be so finicky and I wanted to make sure there was one way better than the other! Cheers!
