so what's is destroying lillypillie, i found these cocoons, is it this beetle I hear about or some random caterpillar, 🤔 can you assist me to identify and how to fix please and thanks
Hello @kclee
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thanks for sharing questions about your lilly pillies.
It looks like your lilly pilly is being damaged by case moths (bag moth) caterpillars, which build protective cases from leaves, bark, and silk while feeding on the foliage. These pests can cause significant leaf loss, especially if your plant is already stressed. To control them, you can physically remove the cases by hand and dispose of them, or prune any heavily infested branches to reduce their numbers. Encouraging birds and beneficial insects can also help keep their population in check.
If the infestation is severe, you can use Richgro 250ml Caterpillar Grasshopper And Millipede Killer from Bunnings, which specifically targets caterpillars.
Please remember to wear personal protection such as gloves, goggles and a mask when using the spray.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
