Hi Team
Our Holy Basil Plant had Brown spots / Stains on all leaves, I cut all the leaves hoping the new leaves wont have the same issue, unfortunately they continue on the new leaves as well.
I would really appreciate any advice on how to get rid of these. The plant is in a pot in a shaded area , well lit and gets sunlight.
Thanks
Jothi
Hi @jjeyaram,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. We are excited to have you join us.
There's a good chance this little critter has something to do with the issues you are having.

This is a Mealybug. They are typically covered with a white, powdery wax that gives them a cottony appearance. Mealybugs feed on plant sap, which can weaken plants, cause leaf yellowing, brown spots, and stunt growth.
My suggestion is to spray your basil plants with Yates Ready-To-Use Advanced Garden Insect Killer, ensuring you coat the leaves thoroughly. Repeat applications weekly until you stop seeing mealybugs. This is safe to use on vegetables and edible plants, but you will want to rinse the basil thoroughly before eating it.
I would also suggest you give them some Tomato Vegetable And Herb Fertiliser to ensure it has the nutrients it needs to bounce back, and that you water them deeply around once a week.
Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
