Hi everyone,
I pruned my Meyer lemon tree in September, and I've noticed a lot of new growth, especially near the bottom where I trimmed a major branch.
As you can see from the photos, there are quite a few new branches. Since I already have two major branches, I'd like to keep only one of these new ones.
Should I trim the unwanted ones now, closer to the base, or wait for them to grow for a few months and then remove them?

Hi @Neo19,
I see no real reason to allow excessive branching to develop, as they're just robbing energy from the rest of the plant. I'd remove the branches that you don't need now as it will help re-direct that energy to the new branch you'd like to develop.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
