needing advice how i clear the grass, weeds from the garden without them growing back
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Melthomas12. It's marvellous to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about removing weeds.
Getting rid of weeds and preventing them from coming back takes a bit of effort, but it’s definitely achievable. You can start by either spraying the weeds with a herbicide like RoundUp or removing them manually by pulling them out, ensuring you get the roots so they don’t regrow. Remember to follow the safety and application directions on the product.
Once the area is clear, laying down weed matting is a great way to stop new weeds from emerging. This acts as a barrier, preventing sunlight from reaching any remaining weed seeds in the soil.
To finish, cover the weed mat with a layer of mulch, such as bark or wood chips, to improve the garden’s appearance while also helping to retain moisture and suppress any stray weeds that might try to grow. If you prefer a chemical-free approach, regular weeding combined with a thick layer of mulch can also help keep weeds at bay.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
