Hi, I am trying to replace my existing lawn with new seeds/lawn. Currently it's in a bad shape with weeds all over the place and cracked soil. Any ideas and tips to loosen the soil and replace the complete lawn with new. TIA

Hi @Sampath
Your welcome to ask questions sorry that sometimes I forget or just assume everyone is very advanced at DIY thats on me. RE the black plastic.
I will dial it down to include more people. Personally I am still learning today so I know how frustrating someone missing a step or minor bit of information can stop us in our tracks.
As you progress feel free to check in with more questions.
Take it easy, @Jewelleryrescue —I missed it earlier too. However, this community is really helpful. As @MitchellMc suggested, I got the black plastic from Bunnings. I'll apply the weed killer today and then place the plastic on top. I'll keep the project updates posted here.
Hi @Sampath
Good job,
For best effect keep the plastic as close to the ground as possible with in reason so the heat builds up for the sterilization process.
Any plant material remaining bin it not composite re the seeds/
