How to plant on a sloped backyard with artificial turf?
My backyard has a gentle slope from the fence towards the house, around 10-20 degrees, and a similar slope from my left-hand neighbor's yard to my right-hand neighbor's yard. The backyard is covered with artificial turf, which we'd preferably like to keep, but the slope has made it difficult to put planters along the fence line.
I'm looking for a friendly solution to add some plants around the fence to cover up the fence line and also grow some veggies and herbs. Ideally, I want to avoid removing the artificial turf, keep expenses low, and maximize DIY efforts without needing to call in professionals. My goal is to create a fence line covered with greenery that is pleasing to the eye and provides some privacy from the neighbors' CCTV and prying eyes. 🌿😊
If any expert community members have faced a similar situation, I'd love to hear your ideas and suggestions on how you handled it! Your tips and experiences would be greatly appreciated. 🌱✨

Re: How to plant on a sloped backyard with artificial turf?
Hello @newuser,
Thanks for sharing your question about what to plant in your sloped backyard. I would probably suggest thinking about building some raised garden beds in order to get a flat level gardening surface. However, before you begin, would it be possible for you to post a few photos of your garden area. This will give our members a better idea of how your garden is set up in relation to the slope. We can then make recommendations on how to proceed.
