Re: How to kill climbing plant?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Nemesis. It's fantastic to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about removing a climbing plant.
That could be a plant called Pink trumpetvine.
To tackle this creeping plant, you’ll first want to cut it back to make it more manageable. Start by clearing away as much of the foliage as you can to find the main trunk or thickest stems, where the plant roots into the ground. Once you've located these main stems, drill several downward holes directly into them. Fill these holes with a concentrated herbicide like Roundup, which will be absorbed into the plant’s root system, helping to kill it off more effectively. Ensure that you follow all safety guidelines on the product label and wear appropriate PPE, including safety glasses, a face mask, gloves, a long-sleeved shirt, trousers, and enclosed footwear.
This method should help stop regrowth and prevent the plant from spreading back across your yard.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
