hi all
i I have a leaky tap, I’ve tightened it as much as I can with my hand and don’t really want to use my spanner in case I crack something or break it. I’ve seen some threads saying to turn main water supply off and removing the tap, going to bunnings to find the ideal one. I’d love to try it but what do i screw out? Just below the lever or the part connecting to the water supply?
Also I’ve seen tips on kinetic tape - should I get it? It’s only $1 and I assume would help with the fit of the tap?
Hi all
ive found my main water supply (front of house) turned it off and made sure my water wasn’t running before removing the old tap with a spanner and bringing it to bunnings. Matched the size of the insert and bought some kinetic tape! $18.95 cost compared to a $99 callout plumber (not including labor or materials!)
Hi @julian_96,
I'm so sorry for the delay in my reply. You've done an awesome job, and replacing the tap is what I would have suggested. I'm glad you got it sorted.
Well done.
