How to build chicken run using chicken welded wire mesh and T posts?

Hi there,

im looking to fence off an area for my chickens. I’d like to use t posts and welded wire chicken mesh. Are there any posts or videos on this? Also unsure how to add a gate. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: How to build chicken run using chicken welded wire mesh and T posts?

Hello @Josh86

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about building a chicken run.

Would it be possible for you to post a few photos of the area where you plan on creating the run? Do you need it to be tall or are you thinking more of a tunnel run? This will give our members a better idea of what you are trying to build. We can then make recommendations on how to proceed.

I suggest having a look at this discussion - Catio and catwalk - My first major DIY by @Kenzi. This is an excellent example of creating a pet run using mesh. I believe that this would work for your chickens as well. It doesn't have to be this grade of mesh, it just have to be self-supporting and can be anchored into the ground.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric
