Hello!
Im planning to do a raised garden bed around 400 - 500mm high. I just want to ask what is the best way to protect the colourbond fence and keep the garden bed off the fence.
Can i use villaboard lining?
thank you
Hello @meegueru21
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about installing a raised garden bed.
When building a raised garden bed, it is often built as an independent structure. In this manner the soil won't be touching any structure that it might damage. Your Colorbond fence is not meant to be used as a backing structure for the raised garden bed. It must be built at least 100mm away from the fence to prevent corrosion. I suggest having a look at this guide - How to build a raised garden bed by @Adam_W.
The only time you would be able to build against a fencing structure is if it was built with bricks or masonry blocks. Otherwise, all four sides of the raised garden must be built from sleepers and not touching your fence.
