I had a hose reel fitted to a hebel wall but two of the 4 fixings have pulled out. Whoever installed just used wall plugs and screws. I am left with holes about 20mm wide and 80mm deep. How do I fill the holes? Then what is the best fixing method to reattach the hose reel?
Hi @paulsc,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
Thank you for your question about fixing holes in Hebel and reattaching a hose reel.
I'd suggest using Earl's Concremate Expanding Cement to fill the holes in the Hebel. This is a concrete filler with an expanding element to counteract the shrinkage that happens with concrete as it dries. Fill the holes with Concremate before painting over to match the surroundings.
Once the holes have been patched, you'll need to move the attachment point over slightly as it is not going to be possible to reattach the hose reel to the holes that have been filled.
I'd suggest using the Fixing to Hebel Guide to select a method of installation that will work for you. You'll note that page 2 of the fixing to Hebel guide offers different options for different Hebel panels and hose reels of different weights.
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out, I'm happy to offer further advice and direction if required.
