Hello everyone
first time doing garden
as you can see from pictures
I try to fix the garden so I can build playhouse for my 20 month old boy
I like to put fake grass on it
but I need to fix first
can anyone help me please
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @harper. It's wonderful to have you join us and many thanks for your question about synthetic turf.
Do you want to cover this entire area or just a portion of it? Is this entire area red sand under the gravel?
It's recommended that synthetic turf is laid on top of sand. If you can rake away the gravel and level the sand, the turf can be laid straight onto it. This removes a step as most people would need to lay the sand themselves, whereas you have it readily available.
You should find this step-by-step guide useful in the process: How to lay synthetic turf.
What type of playhouse do you want to build? I built my daughter a timber pallet cubby, and the only thing I had to buy was a couple of packets of screws.
We look forward to following along with your project and assisting with your garden make-over and playhouse. Please let us know if you have questions.

Hi @harper,
I have moved your post to add on to your previous discussion as I assume you are still wanting to lay artificial turf?
Have you followed the advice in the step-by-step guide: How to lay synthetic turf?
If so, could you please provide more specific detail about what you are having trouble with?
Many thanks,
Jason
Hi Jason
thank you for your reply
yes it was different area
now we choose even bigger space for our son
I try to remove most of gravel but can’t be all remove
I wonder can I put bag of sand on top
so I can put the turfs down
I do have this video save
but before I can clean all the gravel I don’t think I’m able to put turfs
Hello @harper
I suggest using a 44cm Plastic Leaf Rake to bring all the gravel to the center. Then use the Samba Heater Fire Tool Shovel & Hearth Brush Set to pick up all the small gravel. When the area is clear and there is no more gravel you can then put the Bastion 20kg River Sand to a level thickness of 35mm. It will take time to remove all the gravel, don't give up, you can do it! Please keep us updated, we look forward to seeing the artificial turf laid and ready for use.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
