Hi all Potting stand
Fence pickets 70× 19 1.2 metres for shelf and surrounds. The lengths were very accurate so made it easy to use stock standard lengths to avoid a lot of cutting.
The back posts were 1.5m.
The Merbau lattice was a left over piece from a different project so utilised that.
Top shelf was also a left over PC of Masonite that was drilled onto timber supports so shelves didn't sag.
All the bolts and screws washers and nuts were zenith bunnings stock.
On top of the Masonite used $2 lino tiles timber look vinyl self adhesive tiles bought 6. Bought a pc of perspex also from bunnings to stop water lifting and protecting the timber look tiles. The side black rail was from plumbing cut to size so it had a handle to push.
It has castor wheels to make it easy to push around back yard. Make sure you buy correct weight of wheels. Used the blue ones as they are not noisy and much smoother to push trolley over our paving. Used 42x19 dressed pine for supports under the shelfs to stop sagging. Cabot's GARDEN Furniture OIL 1 Ltd tin. The garden tools i already had avail in garden aisle. I did purchase new dustpan as I wanted a black one from.cleaning aisle.
The sink & signs were the only items not from bunnings the sink I bought for a bargain 2nd hand on Facebook market place.
Made top shelf first and made to accommodate the size of the sink. The second shelf was deliberately made so the sink sat on the shelf to help take the weight of the potting mix which was put in sink. I lid was made to cover the sink also out of left over merbau lattice.
The overall height was made to suit my height as I have very bad back had accident 5 yrs ago and spinal surgery so cannot bend. Made making these products very difficult as i needed help from hubby getting all tools needed to be reachable at waist height I sat at our garden table to do staining etc and trying to make each shelf at waist height. Prior to putting together which needs a few hands.
I will organise a proper list with finalises and qty and post some pictures during construction. To the Cover plug hole in the sink used a bit of left over vinyl tile so potting mix can't escape as sink not 100% flat due to its mould. Will post pictures tomorrow or later tonight with progress shots while it was made. Not being able to easily cut the timber myself I used standard lengths you could save money by purchasing longer timber and cutting to size if your able. Hope this helps happy Gardening everyone.
