Hello @IDIG
Thank you for sharing the photos of your fig tree. Training your tree to grow on the espalier is amazing. What was the maximum number of figs you've ever harvested in one go? Can you tell us a little bit about how you assembled the espalier itself?
Many thanks for sharing.
Eric
Eric , Espalier frame started with 4 shelf brackets attached to fence about 25 cm arm distance , then 16 mm galv steel tube , 2 end uprights , top/bottom tube with 1 tube in the middle to keep spread when wires fitted . Then stainless steel cable with adjustable crimp ends & yokes , like what they use on stairways & balustrades , cables fitted & adjusted tight , then train & tie branches as they grew out off centre trunck
Hi @IDIG,
Thanks for sharing those additional details.
You've certainly created a sturdy frame for you to train your fig tree on.
Congratulations on a wonderful project, it looks brilliant.
