We are using a 30 meter Waterweeper pipe for irrigation in our tunnel house. It is too long. Can you cut it and put a stopper in the end?
Hi @Maryb2,
Thank you for your question and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
There shouldn't be any issues with doing this, we will just have to find a way to adequately cap the cut end, so water weeps out the length of the pipe as intended.
If you could let me know the specific water weeping pipe, including the diameter, I'd be happy to offer suggestions on a solution.
Let me know what you think.
Jacob
Hi Jacob,
Thank you for your reply - much appreciated.
It is a 30-meter Pope Waterweeper. It connects to 13mm garden hose.
Cheers,
Mary
Hi @Maryb2,
If it's possible, a better solution would be to use a shorter version of the same thing such as this Pope 15m Water Weeper® With Flow Regulator.
If you've already purchased the hose and this is not an option, you could cap the end of the hose with a Pope Barbed End Plug 13mm and Pope Locking Clamp 13mm.
While this is not the exact purpose of these plugs, I can't see any reason it wouldn't work.
Let me know what you think.
Jacob
Hi Jacob,
Thanks for the advice.
My husband does have Barbed End plugs so that is great. He thinks they are the Neta brand.
He will give that a try and I will let you know how he gets on.
Many thanks,
Mary
Hi Jacob,
My husband has successfully cut the pipe and inserted a stopper. It seems to all work OK,
Thank you for your help,
Mary
