I have pavers in backyard. Can I lay soil on top for lawn?

Hi @Wy,
Thank you for your question about laying turf over pavers.
Unfortunately, no I wouldn't advise laying lawn over pavers even if you put additional soil down. In general, lawn grasses have root systems that can reach depths of anywhere from 15 to 60 cm so unless you were to add an incredible amount of soil, the roots would be impeded by the pavers.
It's best to remove the pavers and then add a layer of topsoil around 5-10cm thick before laying your turf. The topsoil will have good nutrients to promote root growth in the early stages before it breaks through to the layer that was previously below your pavers.
Topsoil can usually be ordered in bulk quantities through your local store's Special Orders desk. Suppliers are regional so you will need to enquire with the team at your local store about pricing and availability in your area.
