Bunnings raised garden turned into wicking system

The planted up version. The white is almond blossom that has fallen. 

 

 Started with the Bunnings $29.99 raised garden.

 

Some six packs.

 

A pair tilted.

 The plastic bag the potting mix came in, along with one of the micro fibre  cloths. 

 

Planted up.  Iceberg lettuce.

 A large plastic bag, that’s normally the Dalek cover .

 a previous planter with Iceberg lettuce growing. 

 Bunnings near me had the Iceberg lettuce in punnets and in seed packets.

 Punnets - six in a punnet. 

 

Seeds as well.

The black tubes are to hold a large plastic bag in place.  Or, a cover made of shade cloth.

 A couple of weeks after. Can see a rabbit has its eye on the lettuce. 

 just noticed the dog is keeping the rabbit away. 

 Gave a talk at a men’s breakfast, sang the praise’s of the raised garden bed.

 I now have a southern brown tree frog setting up shop. I’ve made a gap using two 19mm tubes spaced apart. This means the frog can access the water under the wicking bed.
