Hi
i have some cracks in garage floor as per attahed. I had previously laid smoothing compound to level floor and lay laminate on the floor.
12 months latter portion of floor started to lift. Unpon lifting the laminate the smoothing compound had lifted where cracks were.
i am repairing but need to decide on the compound to fill the crack to start with. 2 options
1. can you please advise based on the image attached which would do the better job-earls or betta. Pictures of the products attached. Or do you have a better option.
the product must provide a seal that will stop moisture and has some flex.
2. once i fix the cracks and prepare surface again which smoothing compound do you recommend to level the section again. Must also have some flex in it. I was thinking the dunlop product.
Hi @rush2009,
I'd recommend you go with the Gripset crack filler. You'll need to sand the filler down if used too liberally.
Dunlop 20kg Ardit Floor Leveller would be a good choice for overcoating the area. What was the product you used before? It sounds like there might be some ongoing movement in the area.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
Ok thanks.
not sure what was used before but the dunlop looks to have some flexibility in the compound so will proceed with the gripset beta crack filler and allow to set and following week i will apy the dunlop smoothing compound.
