How to harden foam board?

Have bought 120x60 cm foam boards to put model railway track on.  What is the best type of epoxy to harden the surface with?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @John87. It's brilliant to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about hardening foam.

The Bastion 1200 x 600 x 30mm XPS Multi Use Foam Board is polystyrene, so our polyester Protite 250g Fibreglass Resin is not suitable. I'm unaware of any resin products that you could use to harden polystyrene boards. Perhaps you might like to consider using Foilboard 25 x 2400 x 1200mm Cathedral 25 Insulation for your project, which is still polystyrene, but it has an aluminium skin on both sides which would hopefully provide the rigidity you need.
