How to hang mirror in gym?

Hi,

I want to hang(paste) mirror in gym.

And this liquid nails

Do I need anything else like j bar or any other clips for extra support?

Just a friendly reminder that working with glass is dangerous, an accidental hit with a tool or when too much force is applied to the glass can cause it to shatter and cause injury. Please make sure to wear personal protection such as gloves and goggles when handling glass.

Thanks for sharing your question about hanging your mirror in the gym. Is it going on a flat surface and will it be fixed to a wall? If it is, the materials you have mentioned will be suitable to mount the mirror. The only other thing I would add is masking tape for the corners of the mirror. This will add extra support to the mirror while the adhesive is curing. Once the adhesive cures you can remove the masking tape.

My best advice is to make sure the silicone bead you place on the mirror is big and fat. It has to be taller than the mirror mounting tape you'll be putting behind the mirror.

Thank you for replying. Can you please provide me the link of masking tape. Is it standard masking tape or some special one? Also I couldn't understand your advice about silicon bead. Would you mind elaborating it more? Thank you so much for your help.

Hi @mann,

Eric suggests temporarily supporting the mirror from underneath whilst the liquid nails dries and taping it back to the wall with painter's tape. It adds some extra support for the double-sided tape until the glue cures.

It's the Liquid Nail he's referring to, not silicone. The double-sided tape has some thickness to it, so you want a decent-sized bead of adhesive (5-6mm) that makes contact with the wall and mirror when compressed. If you only do tiny, thin beads, they won't be able to contact the other surface due to the thickness of the tape.
