How to fill gap in portable building roof?

We recently purchased a used portable building for a NFP organization. It consists of four 3x15m modules. All the modules are in place, levelled and assembled. As indicated in the attached image there is a gap on the roof. I am looking for the best option to fill this gap. will flashing tapes work in this instance? or do we have to use an aluminium strip with a sealant?

Re: How to fill gap in portable building roof?

Hello @kanishkas

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about filling a gap on your roof.

If you are referring to CAgroup 50mm x 10m Weatherproof Byute Flash Flashing Tape it will work to cover the gap in your roof. The key to a successful application is to spray the surface with DIGGERS 500ml Isopropyl Alcohol and wiping it off with a clean dry cloth. This will remove any grease or oil that might be present on the surface. It will also wipe off any dusty residue that is lingering on the top. My best advice is to use a spoon to push the flashing onto the roof so that it sticks properly to the surface.

Another option is to use Selleys 290ml Grey Storm Waterproof Gutter And Roof Sealant. Apply generously onto the gap and spread it thick with a Pro Renovator 50mm Plastic Scraper. Once it cures it will provide a water-tight seal.

Let me call on our experienced members @Dave-1 and @Nailbag for their recommendations.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
