How to cut existing mointed cornice?

I’ve added a false wall to my carport to turn it into a rumpus room I want to add cornice to finish the job, I  am having difficulty  cutting the existing cornice to the correct angle as I can’t use a saw

Re: how to cut existing mointed cornice

Hello @dustycooks73

Thanks for sharing your question about how to cut cornice. I suggest having a quick look at this guide - How to cut and install Gyprock cornice. There are two common cutting guides used for cutting cornice and that is the mitre box and the Builders Edge Altamonte Mitre Template Plaster Tool. These cutting guides will help you to cut your cornice to the proper angle.

In regards to the existing cornice, you'll need to cut them back a little bit further and do a face-to-face join, then do a proper angle to the new edge of your wall.

Here are some discussions regarding cornice you might find useful:

If you need further assistance, please let us know.
